Petition for Okunoshima Rabbits

11/5/26、

Today, we submitted the petition regarding the rescue, population control, and proper management of the rabbits on Okunoshima Island to the head of the Chugoku-Shikoku Regional Environmental Office (Ministry of the Environment) and the Mayor of Takehara. We will continue to collect signatures and submit them at a later date.

Over 2,600 people have already supported the petition, which we launched on October 8. Thank you so much!

However, it seems many people are still unaware of this petition. The petition remains ongoing.

If you haven’t signed yet, please consider doing so (it’s free and takes about a minute). If you have already signed, I would be grateful if you could help spread the word to those around you.

Today, another young rabbit with a broken bone was spotted on the island. There is no system in place to ensure that injured rabbits on the island receive medical treatment.

Don’t you think it’s wrong that they are left without any help?

We simply cannot continue to leave the rabbits of Okunoshima to fend for themselves.
